Google AI Ecosystem Overview

Google is investing heavily in AI, and its ecosystem of tools is constantly evolving. Here is the most comprehensive list of Google’s AI tools, including the latest ones announced at I/O 2025:

The Fundamental Models (LLM and Generative AI):

  1. Gemini: Google’s most advanced multimodal AI model. It is the “brain” behind many of the tools listed below. There are different versions with different capabilities (e.g. Gemini Pro, Gemini Flash, Ultra).
  2. Gemma: Open-source, lightweight models based on Gemini technology, designed for the developer community and research.
  3. Imagen: Models for generating images from text.
  4. Veo: An advanced model for generating video from text and other inputs, with the ability to create realistic and detailed videos with audio.
  5. Jules: A model that, when combined with other tools such as Stitch, can help generate backend and front-end code for applications.

General User and Productivity Tools:

  1. Gemini (chatbot): The conversational platform accessible via web and mobile app (Android and iOS), which allows you to interact directly with the Gemini model for a wide range of activities (writing, brainstorming, summarizing, researching, planning, generating quizzes, etc.).
  2. NotebookLM: An AI-powered research and writing assistant that allows you to upload your documents (PDF, Google Docs, URLs, YouTube transcripts) to summarize, ask questions, get insights and create new content based on your sources.
  3. Google Vids: A new AI-powered video creation and editing tool integrated into Google Workspace. It allows you to create presentation or training videos from work documents, automatically generating audio, selecting images and videos, and offering customization options.
  4. AI Mode in Google Search / AI Overviews: AI features integrated directly into Google Search to provide more complete answers, AI-generated summaries and overviews.
  5. Gemini in Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Slides, Sheets, Meet): Gemini AI capabilities integrated directly into Google productivity apps to help you write emails, create documents, generate presentations, analyze spreadsheets, and improve meetings.
  6. Gemini Live: A Gemini feature that enables more natural and seamless voice interactions.
  7. Agentic Shopping: An AI-powered shopping assistant integrated into Google search tools that can monitor prices and automate purchases based on specific criteria.
  8. Virtual Try-On: Virtually try on clothes or products online using AI.

Tools for Developers and Enterprises (via Google Cloud AI and beyond):

  1. Vertex AI: Unified platform to train, deploy, and scale machine learning models. Offers a full suite of tools for the ML lifecycle.
  2. AI APIs (Google Cloud AI): A set of pre-trained APIs to integrate specific AI capabilities into your applications:
  3. Cloud Vision AI: Image recognition (objects, faces, text, labels, etc.).
  4. Natural Language API: Natural language analysis (sentiment analysis, entity recognition, syntax, etc.).
  5. Translation API: Automatic text translation.
  6. Speech-to-Text API: Speech to text conversion.
  7. Text-to-Speech API: Text to speech conversion.
  8. Video Intelligence API: Video analysis (object, action, event recognition, etc.).
  9. Media Translation API: Real-time translation of audio streams.
  10. Recommendation AI: For personalized recommendation systems.
  11. Contact Center AI: AI solutions to improve customer service.
  12. TensorFlow: Google's most popular open source library for Machine Learning and Deep Learning.
  13. Keras: A high-level API for building neural networks, running on TensorFlow.
  14. ML Kit: SDK for developers that makes it easy to integrate ML capabilities into mobile apps (Android and iOS).
  15. Google AI Studio: Development environment that allows you to access and integrate Gemini models into your applications via API keys.
  16. Firebase Studio: Rapidly prototype and build full-stack AI apps right from your browser.
  17. Agent Builder: A no-code environment for building multimodal AI conversational agents.
  18. Google Stitch: A new AI tool from Google for user interface (UI) design. It lets you turn design ideas and sketches into working UIs and front-end code (exportable to Figma or as code).
  19. Google Flow: A tool related to AI video creation, part of Google's generative modeling ecosystem. May be integrated with Veo.
  20. Whisk: Another tool that seems related to AI video generation, mentioned in relation to Google AI Pro plans.
  21. Deep Research in Gemini: An advanced feature in Gemini that lets you analyze hundreds of websites in real time to generate full research reports.
  22. Project Mariner (early access): An agent-based search prototype to simplify tasks.
  23. Google Agentspace: A platform that combines Gemini's reasoning, Google search, and enterprise data to enable companies to discover, connect, and automate with AI agents.

Research and Specialty Tools:

  1. Google DeepMind: Google's AI research lab that has developed groundbreaking models such as:
  2. AlphaFold: For protein structure prediction.
  3. GNoME: For materials discovery.
  4. Chrome AI: AI capabilities built directly into the Chrome browser (currently more available in the US).

This list is continually evolving as Google continues to advance rapidly in AI. Many of these tools are interconnected and leverage the underlying Gemini models to provide increasingly powerful capabilities.
