Gaming in apps
Apps are becoming more and more popular. a useful tool to make our lives easier, think for example of Iot or the connection of the smartphone with the on-board computers of cars.
But there is another activity which particularly involves us: video games, whose app market is worth more than by half of consoles.
According to Aesvi data (the association representing the video game industry in Italy), last year's turnover was grew to 1.5 billion euros, half a billion more compared to the previous year. But what is worth underlining is that among software products (1 billion overall), the app segment accounts for 385 million euros, while digital downloads on consoles and PCs are at 294 million euros and physical software (i.e. console and PC video games in the traditional format) is to 370 million euros (+7% compared to last year).
For the first time, data relating to the video game industry have been processed with a new research methodology curated and promoted internationally by the European Federation of the video game industry. Yes it is in fact, taking into account not only consoles and PCs, but also the data relating to gaming on smartphones whose podium is excelled by Clash Royale, followed by the omnipresent Candy Crush Saga and its twin Clash of Clans.
It is mainly men who play and in 52% of cases they prefer mobile platforms such as smartphones and tablets.
