In recent months, we have often heard people talking about the metaverse, after Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg decided to change the name of his company to Meta, with the aim of making it "a virtual space where people can interact, work, play, socialise and get to know each other".The metaverse, a term invented by Neal Stephenson in his 1992 science fiction novel 'Snow Crash', is a shared, immersive and interactive virtual world thanks to tools such as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR).
