The Academy by Moko, Xenialab and IFOA starts: an innovative project to attract talent

From the collaboration between Moko, Xenialab and IFOA, the Corporate Academy was born, a path aimed at training a group of future Full Stack Developers, guaranteeing their inclusion in the world of work from the moment they sign up. Full Stack developers are increasingly professional figures. requestedby companies, capable of working on both frontend and backend components and therefore able to manage the entire software development cycle. The Academy is a project financed by the Emilia-Romagna region, therefore participation is mandatory. totally free.

Among other activities, Moko has the role of guaranteeing companies operational support in the creation of business units and assistance in the start-up team process. The challenge that Moko sets itself with the Academy project is to generate value in the territory by training new talents in the field of digital innovation, encouraging their entry into the world of work.

The course

The Academy is aimed at ten young people under 25 and includes a education and training course for a total duration of 800 hours (6 months): the first part of the 400-hour course (40 hours per week) will take place in the classrooms of the IFOA training institute where the selected children, guided by a dedicated tutor, will acquire the skills necessary to design, develop and test the functionalities about new products, REST API and front-end and back-end tools. They will be given the knowledge to manage SQL and NoSQL databases, while they will be introduced to JavaScript-based programming languages ​​such as Node.js, Angular, MongoDB and Express.

In addition, participants will explore in detail technologies such as Asterisk, Kotlin and Swift. Great importance will come also given to the work carried out in contact with the other members of the team, necessary to guarantee the development of clean and testable code.

The students will then spend the next 400 hours at the Innovation Park of Reggio Emilia, home of the historic Officine Meccaniche Reggiane, where they will have the opportunity to put into practice all the notions learned during classroom training, doing on-the-job training on important projects already approved by customers.

Upon completion of the course and passing the final exam, students will receive the IFTS specialization certificate in ""Techniques for the design and development of IT applications"" was released.

 

From training to work in the company

The Moko Academy with Xenialab and IFOA is not limited to a specialized training course and the recognition of a certificate, but also provides direct insertion into the company. The hiring will be regulated by an initial Level I Apprenticeship contract lasting one year which however has the goal of turning into a long-lasting collaboration.

The realities places where young developers will be placed are Moko and Xenialab, and it will be in these two locations, supported by two Senior Full Stack Developers hired in turn by Moko, the kids will have the opportunity to work firsthand on important projects, becoming in effect part of the teams of their respective companies.

 

Requirements and methods registration

Those interested can already register register for the Academy by connecting to the dedicated page on the IFOA website. In particular, the Academy is aimed at ten people aged not exceeding 25 years of age with residence and/or domicile in Emilia-Romagna. Additionally, applicants must have a high school diploma. Registrations are open until April 28, while the start of the course is set for 5 June 2023.

Interested parties are invited to participate in theOpen Day which will have will take place on April 12 at the Parco Innovazione: on this occasion both the initiative and the companies involved will be presented in detail, and there will be the space to answer any questions or curiosities about the Academy project.
