More and more online from mobile, apps are triumphing
I'm more of thirty million Italians who surf the net via smartphone and almost thirteen million who access the internet from tablet.
The predilection for mobile devices is increased by 45.3% according to data provided by Audiweb, compared to the previous year previous.
The use of the desktop network instead collapses, replaced by sharing the tablet within the family, highlighting the trend towards the use of this device not only while traveling, but also at home.
Approximately 84% of activities online from mobile are carried out via app and only the remaining part concerns navigation via browser.
The study also noted the differences in age groups, highlighting how the most young, in age between 18 and 34 years old, are those who spend the most time online, followed by 35-54 year olds and finally 55+.
Women spend more time online. time online compared to men and they do it mainly via mobile.
But what do users do when they are online? In 87% of cases they dedicate themselves to social networks (mainly apps), exchange instant messages, browse search engines and practice online gaming. When they use desktop platforms, habits also change, shifting the trend towards searching for news and checking emails.
By excluding these transversal behaviors and once again entering specific age groups mobile habits differ: the most young people prefer m-commerce, information sites and videos, the 35-54 group also visits generalist portals and the more mature groups older women admit that they prefer activities from desktop for e-commerce and news search.
The use of mobile devices to access the network is a constantly increasing phenomenon and it will not be possible to more regardless of a mobile first approach in the design of websites, applicationsand software.
